✨ The official program for Nordic Star Festival 2026 is now released! ✨
This year’s festival unfolds across several cities in the Mälardalen region and Stockholm – with film screenings, conversations, and encounters with filmmakers in Arboga, Kungsör, Köping, Västerås, and Stockholm.
Each city offers its own unique atmosphere, from big-city pulse to small-town charm.
🎬 No matter where you join, you’ll experience new cinematic discoveries, international guests, and conversations about the future of film.
🍷 Along the way, there will also be smaller parties – and on October 24 at the beautiful Skandia Biografen in Stockholm, the festival culminates with a grand awards ceremony, where around 40 awards will be presented, followed by a celebration for 500-700 guests.

Beneath the Quiet Whisper
Behind the quiet rotuines of their everyday life, Sarah and David live in a relationship built on control, violence, shame and silence.
As the tension deepens, the roles are not what they seem. Beneath the Quite Whisper is an psychological thriller about hidden violence,
blurred boundaries, and the darkness that festers where no one looks.

The Island (Swedish version)
In a world ravaged by disasters, a traumatised woman reaches a mysterious peaceful island, where an old radio leads her to a man
guarding its secret. When she learns her own role in protecting it, hope becomes her purpose.

A Definite Disaster
Jon, a struggling aspiring novelist, can’t seem to finish anything—not even a sentence. When his estranged father unexpectedly arrives for a visit,
the apartment is quickly consumed by unsolicited advice, trivial complaints, and endless small talk. As the afternoon slips further out of Jon’s control,
years of resentment quietly build beneath the surface, turning an ordinary family visit into an increasingly absurd battle between two men convinced
life has treated them unfairly.
